Responsible gambling
Veintiuno is an educational tool: there’s no real-money play in the app. But if you play in casinos, keep this in mind.
Simple rules
- Decide how much money and time you’ll spend before you start, and stick to it.
- Only play with money you can afford to lose. Never with borrowed money.
- Don’t chase losses by raising your bets.
- Blackjack has a house edge: over time, you lose. Treat it as the cost of entertainment.
- Don’t gamble to escape problems, or after drinking.
Warning signs
- You think about gambling constantly or need bigger bets to feel the same.
- You lie about how much you play or lose.
- You’ve tried to cut back or stop and couldn’t.
- Gambling is causing money, work or family problems.
Where to get help
- United States: call or text 1-800-GAMBLER (National Council on Problem Gambling), free and confidential, 24/7.
- United Kingdom: National Gambling Helpline 0808 8020 133 (GamCare), or BeGambleAware.org.
- Spain: jugarbien.es and FEJAR, 900 200 225.
- Elsewhere: look for your country’s public problem-gambling service, or talk to your doctor.
Asking for help isn’t failure. Gambling disorder is a recognized condition, and it’s treatable.
